WET was hired by the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) to provide technical assistance related to its Renewable Resource Grant and Loan (RRGL) and Reclamation and Development Grants Programs (RDGP). Over the past five biennial grant cycles, WET personnel have assisted DNRC in reviewing several water resource and mine reclamation grants for both programs. WET personnel conduct a thorough review of each application and conducted the following evaluations: completeness check, technical feasibility, financial feasibility, project management plan, and resource and citizen benefits. WET provides technical advice to DNRC staff and attends meetings with staff and other reviewers to rank the projects. Final deliverables for the project include a legislative summary report and background research information. WET regularly provides reviews on irrigation infrastructure, stream, restoration, and ground water study projects.
