Water & Environmental Technologies was contracted to investigate water rights depletions in the Moccasin Mountain range north of Lewistown Montana. Area landowners noticed significant flow decreases in the springs and creeks flowing onto their property across the Kendall Mine Site. The mine had installed interceptor trenches to collect contaminated ground water and had inadvertently dewatered neighboring properties. WET conducted a geologic and hydrogeologic investigation to determine the impacts to both water quantity and quality resulting from their action. Geomorphologic data were investigated to determine the hydrogeologic communication between drainages and a monitoring system was installed to document the effect of corrective measures.
