WET was contracted by a regional energy company to provide hydraulic and hydrology evaluation of a Northwestern development in a mapped floodplain. WET used Basin Characteristics Regression equations and Log Pearson III statistical methods to determine hydrology for an ungaged site. WET completed surveyed cross sections in order to model 0.2 miles of water course with a HEC-RAS one-dimensional model. Upon a full evaluation of the hydraulics, WET worked with the company, the Floodplain Administrator and DNRC to evaluate development alternatives. The report was submitted to all stakeholders and approved in 2013.
